Visible Energy is a startup that’s creating consumer products and services to help promote home electricity conservation and reduce greenhouse emissions.

We want to make the “iPod of the energy market.” To achieve this lofty goal, we're looking for strong, self-motivated programmers who love contributing to a new product that can change how we use energy in our everyday life.

More than anything, we value passion and competence. After all, we are looking to change the industry and to have fun doing it.

We are currently interviewing for a server development project leader position.

Here are the qualities we’re seeking:

  • Comfortable working independently with little direction.
  • Knowledge of multiple languages (we use Ruby on Rails, C/C++, ActionScript, Erlang).
  • Experience with both Web Programming and Embedded Systems (ARM, DSP).
  • Self-directed and ambitious. We're looking for teammates, not employees.
  • Considerable appreciation for energy conservation issues.

These credentials would be icing on the cake:

  • Developed Rails-based applications or iPhone applications.
  • Worked with DSP and ARM embedded systems.
  • Familiar with Linux, ActionScript.

We offer a competitive salary, generous stock options, and the chance to join the founding team of an exciting startup.

In addition to a salary commensurate with experience, we also compensate with equity and cash bonuses based the performance of our business. You may not earn as much in the next 12 months as you might somewhere else, but at Visible Energy you'll most likely earn a lot more over the next 2-3 years. Other benefits to working here include challenging learning opportunities, accelerated responsibility, and an open, zero-politics work environment. Every developer reports to the CEO.

All positions are in our Palo Alto office. We will consider H-1 sponsorship for the proper candidate.

If you possess these qualifications, we are very interested in talking to you. Please e-mail a cover letter and resume to careers@visiblenergy.com.

Principals only please. No exceptions.
